Anchorage-Area DQs Debut $5 Lunch, Smoothies

Dairy Queen® System is First Quick Service Restaurant

to Offer Light Smoothies

Dairy Queen locations

In a first for the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, the Dairy Queen® system has introduced Orange Julius® Light Smoothies as part of the national roll-out of Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and Julius® Originals to locations in the Anchorage area. In addition, the DQ® system has introduced the $5 Buck Lunch value meal to the Anchorage area in response to consumer demand for value, particularly at lunch.  

All Orange Julius Light Smoothies, Premium Fruit Smoothies and Julius Originals are available in eight flavors including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry®, Mango Pineapple, Berry-Pom, OrangeBerry and Piña Colada. Two different boosts, protein or fresh banana, can also be added to any Orange Julius drink. The Orange Julius Light Smoothies are made with real fruit, no artificial flavors or sweeteners and contain 170 calories or less in a small. The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are made fresh to order with real fruit, blended with low-fat yogurt and no artificial flavors.

The Dairy Queen system’s $5 Buck Lunch value meal is available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating locations. Fans have a choice for their $5 Buck Lunch of a ¼ lb. GrillBurger™ with cheese, 3-piece Chicken Strip Lunch or a Chili Cheese Dog, which are all served with fries, a beverage and choice of a sundae. For just $1 more, fans also will have the option to upgrade their small sundae to a small Blizzard® Treat.
