Alaska Chamber pro-business campaign adds mining industry radio spot

The Alaska Chamber recently launched a pro-business informational advertising campaign focusing on the positive impacts businesses and pro-business policies have on Alaska.

In addition to a series of radio ads highlighting the benefits of the oil and tourism industries, the campaign recently added a radio ad extolling the benefits of the mineral extraction industry and its affect on the state and Alaskans.

Alaska ranks #4 on most entrepreneurial states list

CNN money recently ranked Alaska as one of the most entrepreneurial states in the country.

According to the web story with information provided by Rachael Petro, President and CEO of the Alaska Chamber:

Niche businesses that cater to Alaska's robust tourism industry do particularly well here. Think bed & breakfasts, food and craft stores, and restaurants.

Cities like Anchorage are helping encourage the startup scene by offering $13.2 million in loans to small businesses.

EPA extends Bristol Bay assessment deadline
The EPA recently extended the deadline to make your voice heard regarding  the revised assessment of the Bristol Bay region.

The revised assessment remains a conclusive-driven document in search of support. The document continues to be flawed as it does not contain site specific development and mitigation plans, and is based on a hypothetical project that is misleading and inaccurate.

The Alaska Chamber maintains that any project in Alaska should be allowed to be vetted through existing permitting processes, and be properly evaluated through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Please consider submitting written comments by
Sunday, June 30
discouraging the EPA from preemptively vetoing projects in the Bristol Bay area.

Tell the EPA to stop undermining existing regulatory processes and avoid setting a dangerous precedent for development in Alaska and throughout the U.S.
