ACS Media Encourages Anchorage Community to ‘Think Yellow Go Green’ By Recycling Outdated Telephone Directories
Annual Environmental Awareness Program Kicks Off at Summer Solstice Festival
ANCHORAGE, AK (June 19, 2013) – ACS Media (publisher of the ACS Yellow Pages), along with its Sales Agent, The Berry Company, will launch its annual Think Yellow, Go Green program at this years Anchorage Summer Solstice Festival on June 22. The annual program encourages the Anchorage community to recycle their outdated telephone directories. ACS Media and Berry have partnered with Alaska Waste, Carrs stores, Elmendorf Commissary, and the University of Alaska-Anchorage (UAA) on the program. ACS Yellow Pages were recently distributed to homes and businesses in Anchorage, so it’s an ideal time to recycle all outdated directories.
Anchorage residents who bring outdated directories to ACS Media and Berry’s Think Yellow, Go Green booth at the Summer Solstice Festival recycling will be eligible to win prizes, including merchandise and gift cards. Volunteers from Berry and local non-profit organization, Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling (ALPAR), will be at their Summer Solstice Festival booth at the ACS Media/Berry "Moose Mobile" collecting books and handing out prizes. Additionally, the "Moose on the Loose" will be distributing information about recycling drop locations.
"Our directory recycling campaign is part of our annual Think Yellow, Go Green environmental sustainability initiative, last year we collected over 31 tons of outdated telephone directories for recycling. We are delighted to partner with ALPAR, Carrs, Elmendorf Commissary, the Summer Solstice Festival, UAA and the Anchorage community to encourage recycling efforts," said Chris Vaughn, Branch Manager of The Berry Company in Anchorage.
