The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is pleased to announce the following promotions within the Maintenance and Operations Division.

Steve Potter, formerly the Fairbanks District Superintendent, accepted a promotion to the Northern Region Maintenance Manager with overall responsibilities for six districts covering about 65% of the state. He will supervise the district superintendents responsible for maintaining nearly a hundred airports, 400 public buildings and approximately 8,700 miles of roadway. Potter, who has 25 years of excellent service with DOT&PF, will be based in Fairbanks and report to Bill O’Halloran, Director of Northern Region Maintenance and Operations.
Dan Schacher was promoted to Fairbanks District Superintendent, assuming responsibility for all maintenance and operations in the largest and most complex district in DOT&PF Northern Region. Previously the district foreman, Schacher brings great attention to detail and safety to this key position. Schacher will be based in Fairbanks, reporting to Potter.
