Taquoka's Move from AWCC to Sweden
Taquoka, the 2-year-old Kodiak brown bear, being tranquilized for transport to Sweden from the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center near Portage.

PORTAGE, Alaska - June 13, 2012, Staff at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center worked this afternoon to transport Taquoka the 2-year-old Kodiak brown bear cub to Sweden.
The animal was successfully tranquilized, and put into a special crate made just for the trip.
He was deemed healthy by vets, and is currently en route to the Orsa facility in Sweden via Newark, New Jersey.
