Federal Subsistence Board to Meet to in Anchorage July 18
The Federal Subsistence Board will meet July 18, 2012 in Anchorage in public and executive session. The public portion of the meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m., during which the Board will:
- Hear an update on the status of the review of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Alaska and the Federal Subsistence Board;
- Hear a report on the process to develop implementation guidelines for the Board’s Tribal consultation policy; and have initial discussions on possible approaches to conduct a review of the rural/nonrural determination process.
Other issues may be discussed at the public meeting.
Following the conclusion of the public portion of the meeting, the Board will hold an executive session to review applications for Federal
Subsistence Regional Advisory Council membership and develop its recommendations to the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture on who should be appointed to the Councils. This portion of the meeting is not open to the public due to the concern for the privacy of the applicants.
There will be an opportunity at the start of the public portion of the meeting for public testimony regarding both agenda and non-agenda items. You may participate in person or by teleconference. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Gordon Watson Conference Room, 1011 E. Tudor Rd., Anchorage. Photo identification, such as a driver’s license, must be presented at the building reception desk.
