Caines Head Trail bridge repaired and reopened for public use
(Seward, AK) – The Tonsina Creek bridge, which provides access to Caines Head State Recreation Area, has been repaired and reopened for public use. The bridge is located along the popular Caines Head hiking trail that begins in Seward and it spans the south fork of Tonsina Creek.
The bridge was damaged from flooding in 2006 and has not been accessible since then. The repairs were made using a combination of state and Federal Emergency Management Agency funds.
