Bean’s Café is in the running for $5,000 from Alyeska Pipeline

Bean’s Café is one of 35 Alaska nonprofits selected to participate in the “TAPS $5K for 35 Philanthropy Poll,” which will award $5,000 to three organizations. Bean’s Café is a local nonprofit that has been serving meals to the hungry and providing shelter to the needy since 1979. It is located in downtown Anchorage and is open every day of the year.

The poll is part of Alyeska Pipeline’s 35th anniversary celebration. Voting is open to the public and will begin on June 20 on Alyeska’s website, www.alyeska-pipe.com. At the end of 35 days, the three organizations with the most votes will be announced and each will receive $5,000. The participating organizations, selected by Alyeska Pipeline employees, include nonprofits from Anchorage, Fairbanks and Valdez.
