Anchorage Chamber Of Commerce Organizes Largest Military Appreciation Event In The State
Anchorage Chamber Military Appreciation Week Concludes with Picnics tomorrow
Anchorage- Anchorage has long enjoyed a rich history and strong relationship with the local military, a billion dollar local economic driver.
In appreciation, the Anchorage Chamber will host its 17th annual Military Appreciation Picnics, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 8 at JBER - Elmendorf (Paxton Park) and JBER - Richardson (Buckner Physical Fitness Center).
More than 150 people from the business community will serve an estimated 8,000 servicemen, women and their families and pause to say "thank you" to military personnel, many of whom have recently returned from active duty overseas.
Highlights include: Games, face painting and children's activities at both locations
Military Vehicle Show - JBER-Richardson
Arctic Warrior Olympics - JBER-Elmendorf
Recreational Adult Games, including "speed ball" - JBER-Richardson
