OTHER RELEASES THIS WEEK: Electric Power Monthly (06/09/2011)
This June issue contains data for March 2011, during which net generation in the United States rose 2.0 percent from the March 2010 level. Consumption of coal for power generation fell 5.5 percent compared to March 2010. The average retail price of electricity for March 2011 was 9.66 cents per kilowatthour, 0.9 percent higher than March 2010, when the price was 9.57 cents per kWh.
Short-Term Energy Outlook (06/07/2011)
Short-term energy projections for supply, demand, and price for the major fuels through 2012 for the U.S. International oil forecasts are included.
State Energy Data System: Total Energy Through 2009 (06/03/2011)
Annual State-level estimates of energy consumption, prices, and expenditures by sector. U.S. total energy expenditures equaled $1.1 trillion in 2009, a 25% decrease from 2008. The States with the largest expenditures were Texas, which accounted for 11% of U.S. energy expenditures; California, which accounted for 10%; and New York and Florida, which each accounted for 5%.
