The purpose of this is to provide you with the most recent news and information about U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) permitting activities in the Alaskan arctic, including the North Slope and the Outer Continental Shelf of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas.

EPA is preparing to propose issuing several air and water permits for Arctic oil and gas exploration. Before formal public comment periods begin, EPA air and water permits staff are hosting meetings to present information about the upcoming permits in Barrow, Alaska:

June 16, 5:00 pm
Inupiat Heritage Center

Meeting is open to all community members to attend in person  

June 17, 9:00am

Barrow High School

Meeting is open to North Slope and NW Arctic governments, villages and organizations to attend in person or call in from North Slope Borough teleconference centers
