Senate Transportation Committee to Conduct Aviation OverviewAnchorage – The Senate Transportation Committee will hold an overview of aviation in the state at the Anchorage Legislative Information Office next Tuesday.
The meeting will be run by the committee’s vice chair, Senator Linda Menard, R-Wasilla, and cover topics ranging from cargo and passenger numbers at the state’s major airports to challenges facing the aviation infrastructure of Alaska.
The meeting will also serve as the Legislature’s introduction to Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner for Aviation Marc Luiken. Mr. Luiken will introduce himself and lay out his vision for the future of Alaska aviation.
DOT Commissioner Leo Von Scheben will also be at the meeting.
Although the meeting is of the Senate Transportation Committee, an invitation has been extended to all legislators and staff.
