Representative Scott Kawasaki to Speak
Fairbanks – Representative Scott Kawasaki will address the public at the monthly Fahrenkamp Luncheon on Friday, June 11. Representative Kawasaki will be one of the guest speakers presenting on the recent success of the 26th Alaska State Legislature. The Representative will be joined by Representative David Guttenberg.
“I am pleased to bring a progress report back to Fairbanks about all of the success we had over the past session.” Kawasaki said. “We were able to provide Fairbanks with the most capital projects in history, including money for education, road maintenance and energy projects.”
The Fahrenkamp Luncheon is a monthly meeting for locals interested in good government and current events. All Fairbanksans are invited to attend and the meeting which is free to the public. Lunch will be catered by the Westmark Hotel and costs $15. The Fahrenkamp Lunch was established in honor of Senator Betty Fahrenkamp, a local state legislator dedicated to the people of Fairbanks and the integrity of the Legislature. Senator Fahrenkamp served four terms before succumbing to bone cancer in 1991.
“Every time I speak at the Fahrenkamp Luncheon I am reminded of the amazing legislators who have served Fairbanks before me, people like Senator Betty Fahrenkamp.” Kawasaki said, “Fairbanks has a history of strong leadership in the Legislature.”
Representative Kawasaki will be available after the luncheon for individual questions from the public.
