Alaska’s Largest Drug Testing Company Sold

Beacon Occupational  Health and Safety Services, Inc. acquires WorkSafe, Inc.

After two-decades of success and growth meeting federal drug testing needs of Alaskan businesses, WorkSafe is being acquired by Beacon Occupational Health and Safety Services.

WorkSafe has grown from a small start-up business to Alaska’s largest and most experienced drug testing company. The NANA-owned business provides more than 55,000 drug tests for more than 2,500 Alaskan businesses each year.

Beacon was established in 1999 and has expanded to 170 employees. It has provided drug and alcohol testing, occupational health, and medical clinics and training throughout Alaska and the lower 48. Beacon’s goal is to provide a safer, healthier environment for a clientele that includes Alaska businesses as well as city, state, and federal governments.

The WorkSafe name will continue under Beacon.  “We are pleased that WorkSafe’s employees will be offered the opportunity to continue in their jobs as Beacon employees. Keeping the WorkSafe team together also means a smoother transition,” says WorkSafe President Matthew Fagnani.

Beacon Occupational Health and Safety President Holly Hylen says her company is excited to acquire WorkSafe. “The agreement is a win-win for Beacon, WorkSafe  employees, and customers.  We look forward to expanding our company while giving our customers and community the best service possible. That’s something worth doing.”
