Alaska Business Monthly's Best of Alaska Business 2016

Published:

Thank you to our readers who helped us select the winners of Alaska Business Monthly’s first annual Best of Alaska Business Awards, which we are revealing in a special section that begins on page 39. The success of all the winners and their exceptional dedication to Alaska business holds great promise for Alaska’s future and the economy.

Through the challenges of getting something new, such as this special section, off the ground, I offer heartfelt gratitude for all the material everyone contributed. We received truly inspiring comments and phenomenal artwork.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the Denali, St. Elias, and Foraker awards in Alaska Business Monthly’s first annual Best of Alaska Business Awards! Kudos to those winning an award in more than one category: Bristol Bay Native Corporation and its Bristol Bay Development Fund, the Municipality of Anchorage and its 49th State Angel Fund, Glacier Brewhouse, Odd Man Rush Brewing, Peppercini’s Deli & Catering, and Simon & Seaforts.

You’ll have to read the magazine to find all the categories and winners, plus almost two dozen great articles and our monthly fixtures. Be sure to look for two additional special sections: Telecom & Tech and Building Alaska. The team has put together another really great magazine—enjoy!

The survey was rolled out in February and ran through April, with winners determined by readers responding to the online survey via akbizmag.com, Alaska Business Monthly’s Facebook and Twitter pages, the Alaska Business Monthly digital edition, and email invitations.

Martin says this year’s contest was so successful that the magazine will be doing it again next year and urges people to keep an eye out for Alaska Business Monthly’s second annual ‘Best of Alaska Business Awards’ survey beginning in February 2017.
