Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge Welcomes Executive Chef Lanny Chin

Talkeetna, Alaska – Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is pleased to welcome Lanny Chin as Executive Chef. Chef Lanny is responsible for the exquisite culinary experience at the Foraker Restaurant featuring fine dining, the Base Camp Bistro and all catered events including weddings, meetings and conferences. Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge has a long history of fine dining experience and has won the wine spectator award every year since 1993. Chin’s past experience will perpetuate the lodge’s leadership in Alaska cuisine experiences.
From an early age, Chef Lanny could be found observing his grandfather, a chef at the old Cleveland hot spot, Theatrical. He worked his way up from dishwasher to Executive Chef for the Hyde Park Group. To gain additional culinary knowledge, he willingly stepped down from his position to enroll in the International Culinary Arts and Sciences Institute. After completing the program, Chef Lanny further expanded his restaurant knowledge by acting as dining room manager for J. Alexander's. Yet Chef Lanny longed to be back in the kitchen. He has worked at Chicago's world-famous Alinea under the renowned Chef Achatz as well as an Executive Chef position in Cleveland at Lago, the anchor restaurant in the city's attempts to revitalize the East Bank of the Flats.
