Restaurant Rewards program now accepting applicants
(Palmer, AK) – The Alaska Grown Restaurant Rewards Program is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 cycle from eligible food vendors, such as restaurants and caterers. Once food vendors enroll in the program, they will be reimbursed 20 percent of the purchase price for all Alaska Grown specialty crops purchased.
Participating food vendors are required to fill out a reimbursement request form and provide receipts of all relevant transactions. Food vendors that have participated in the past must re-enroll every year. The 2014-2015 cycle will end June 30, 2015. The application can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RR14-15Application
Specialty crops include vegetables, herbs, fruits, honey, jam, jelly, syrup, and flowers. Participating food vendors should always double check with their suppliers to make sure they’re purchasing Alaska Grown products.
Also, due to its exceptional efforts to support Alaska Grown through the purchase of local ingredients during the 2013-2014 rewards program, the Flying Squirrel Bakery Café has won the Restaurant Rewards “Go the Distance” Contest. As a result, the Talkeetna restaurant is receiving an additional three percent reimbursement on the crops it purchased during the 2013-2014 program cycle.
