Local Landscape Architect named Anchorage Chamber LEAP Graduate

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Mark Kimerer, Principal Landscape Architect at Bettisworth North recently completed Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership and Executive Advancement Program (LEAP). According to the Chamber, LEAP is an extensive leadership program, providing a progressive curriculum of community involvement and professional development while teaching mentoring and human resources skills. The Chamber says the course also covers local government, community service, and networking to ensuring students’ growth and success in the Anchorage business community.

“As a new partner in the firm, I wanted to find an opportunity to connect with the business community and enhance my leadership skills,” Kimerer says. “LEAP allowed me to do both.”

Kimerer became a partner at Bettisworth North in January 2014 and brings 21 years of experience in landscape architecture. He leads the firm’s landscape architecture department of three and oversees human resources and professional development for the firm.

Kimerer is an advocate for community building through pro bono projects, including volunteering his time to the Peirce Park Living Lab Project in Fairbanks and helping to create a campus master plan for Winterberry School in Anchorage. Kimerer’s notable landscape architecture projects at Bettisworth North include the Tanana Chiefs Conference Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center in Fairbanks, the Valdez Middle School in Valdez and the Spenard Road Reconstruction Project in Anchorage.
