Chenault Encourage by AK LNG Project News

Speaker comments on gasline development, filing for export license

Monday, July 21, 2014, Nikiski, Alaska – Alaska Speaker of the House Mike Chenault offered the following statement today upon learning of the Alaska LNG Project partners filing for a 30-year export license from the federal government.

“We have seen steady movement forward on this project over the course of the past year, and today’s news is another milestone met. I am glad to see the project advance to this moment; it’s another piece to the puzzle of getting our gas to market, after bringing gas to Alaskans. We worked diligently during the 28th Legislature with the Administration and project sponsors to keep the gasline momentum going. Today’s news is testament to that commitment. Congratulations to the Project team, and we’ll continue to monitor the process. Now, it’s up to the U.S. Dept. of Energy.”
