Crow Pass Trail closed between Icicle Creek and Twin Falls
(Anchorage, AK) – A three-mile section of the popular Crow Pass Trail within Chugach State Park has been closed due to a brown bear charging incident and subsequent reports of a carcass near the trail. The carcass was reported to be in the vicinity of Notch Creek, approximately halfway between Icicle Creek and Twin Falls Creek.
The trail closure will remain in effect until it is publicly announced that the closure has been lifted.
Anyone using an Alaska trail should take appropriate precautionary measures, be prepared to encounter a bear, and be knowledgeable in recognizing bear behavior and how to respond to an encounter.
