The Alaska Division of Public Health,

Section of Women’s, Children’s, and Family Health

is pleased to announce the

Alaska Maternal and Child Health Data Book 2012: Birth Defects Surveillance Edition

This new Data Book is the sixth in our series of comprehensive reference books on the status of women’s, infant’s and children’s health in Alaska.  We encourage readers to use the data presented in this data book to improve the health of Alaska’s children.

This is the second comprehensive analysis of the Alaska Birth Defects Registry data. This data book provides a detailed descriptive epidemiology of the prevalence and distribution of major congenital anomalies among Alaskan populations.  It is divided into chapters based on the anatomical site of the malformation.  Analysis includes temporal trends, geographic distributions, and epidemiological characteristics.
