MTA Expands Digital Television Offerings

Palmer, Alaska – July 31, 2012 Matanuska Telephone Association (MTA) is expanding its digital television offerings adding over 119 television and music channels as well as launching a local programming channel.

This summer, MTA launched 310 Local, a new channel featuring community events and local high school and college sports.

MTA digital television is also expanding their offerings with 17 new international channels including two Russian language channels, 13 new Hispanic language channels, and Japanese, Korean, and Filipino channels. Additionally, there are over 52 other channels including Military History, Disney Junior, Crime & Investigation Network, and MLB, NHL and NBA channels.

They have also expanded their family-oriented programming and Christian channels with the additions of Inspiration Network and World Harvest Channel. The music channel selection has expanded to include over 50 new music channels. Viewers will also see improvements such as seeing song titles, artist names and visual screen images as the music plays.

With all of these additions, MTA is streamlining and reorganizing their DTV packages. There are now three to choose from, reduced from five.
