First Ever Salmon Daze Festival Celebrates Alaska’s Wild Salmon in Downtown Anchorage

July 26, 2012 (Anchorage, Alaska) - Don’t miss out on this fun filled day in Downtown Anchorage with a festival celebrating one of Alaska’s most valuable resources, wild Salmon, as well as local Alaskan artists and galleries on Saturday, July 28th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on G Street between 3rd and 5th Avenue.

The first, ever Salmon Daze Festival, combined with the 4th annual G Street Art Fair will feature Face Painting, A Buckin Salmon, Fish Pond, Live Music and Beer Garden, and local artists. Alice Welling, as Sally the Salmon, will also be featured during the event for some great entertainment! With fun, family friendly activities, you’re guaranteed to have a great time.

The event will also feature over twenty (20) local Alaskan artists and galleries who will show and sell their latest creations.  Various types of artwork will be displayed such as recycled art, photography, jewelry, paintings, fiber art, pottery, glasswork, clothing, leather, carvings and more! There will be an array of local talent including a artistic fishing booth manned by Duke Russell, hand painted shoe artist Romney Dodd and many more!

Come on down to help the city of Anchorage celebrate one of our most valued resources, Wild Salmon and meet and greet these talented artists in Downtown at the G Street Artist Gathering at this one-day event brought to you by Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd.  There’s always something to do in Downtown!
