Analysis of Department of Labor Enforcement Records Finds Incidents of Discrimination Against Veterans or the Disabled Extremely Rare Among Federal Contractors
On Wednesday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. EDT, officials with the Center for Corporate Equality will detail how a new review they conducted of federal data shows no need for costly and complex hiring quotas and anti-discriminatory measures being proposed by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) during a media conference call at (800-875-3456) (verbal pass code VT28846). The equal employment experts will explain how their analysis of the Department of Labor’s own enforcement records found that incidents of discrimination against veterans or the disabled are extremely rare among federal contractors.
During the call, the Center for Corporate Equality’s Senior Vice President, David Cohen, and Analyst, Amanda Shapiro, will explain the details of their new analysis. Mike Kennedy, the general counsel for the Associated General Contractors of America will explain how the proposed rules will make it even more difficult for hard-hit construction firms to recruit and hire veterans, the disabled or other new employees.
