Bean’s Café Receives $6,750 From UPS For New Kitchen Equipment
ANCHORAGE – Bean’s Café is pleased to announce that it has received $6,750 from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS. The grant will be used to purchase two new pieces of kitchen equipment for Bean’s Café. The equipment will facilitate Bean’s Café’s food preparation efforts. Bean’s Café serves over 500 meals daily to the needy of Anchorage, Alaska. The organization has been feeding the hungry and providing day shelter for the homeless since 1979.
Established in 1971 and based in Atlanta, Ga., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In 2011, The UPS Foundation distributed more than $45.3 million worldwide through grants that benefit organizations such as Bean’s Café.
