Kulis Facilities Available for Lease or Purchase

Facility Available at ANC for Lease or Purchase

July 12, 2011, Anchorage, Alaska - Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (TSAIA) announces an opportunity to lease or purchase facilities at the former Kulis Air National Guard Base (Kulis).  The 127-acre facility is on the south side of TSAIA and accessed via Raspberry Road

During the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), the BRAC Commission recommended closure of Kulis and the relocation of the 176th wing of the Alaska Air National Guard (AKANG) and associated aircraft to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson by September 15, 2011.

TSAIA anticipates the land transfer from the Department of Defense on or around September 30, 2011 and is currently accepting applications for lease or purchase with the intention of leasing land and leasing or selling existing buildings upon the turnover of Kulis to TSAIA.

Available for lease or purchase for general commercial/non-aviation related uses are three office buildings, some with warehouse space, and one warehouse with adjoining office space, all of which will be offered to the public for leases up to 20 years.  Three hangars are also available for lease or purchase to aviation related industries, as well as apron-front land available for land lease to parties interested in new development for aviation purposes.  Preference will be given to aviation use applicants for all facilities but all applications will be considered.

If you are interested in more information regarding these facilities please see http://anchorageprospector.com/. Lease applications can be found at http://www.dot.state.ak.us/anc/business/leasing/LandLeaseApplication-Inst2010.pdf
