Mayor Sullivan and community partners to help construct new soup kitchen shelter
The Downtown Soup Kitchen has long needed a structure to shelter patrons (and their
food) from the elements, especially snow and rain.
On Fri., July 23, Mayor Sullivan and executives and staff of the Alaska Surgery Center
and Kiewit Construction will help construct a shelter designed to give soup kitchen
visitors a warm, dry place to enjoy their meals.
The Downtown Soup Kitchen serves hundreds of meals every Mon.- Fri. between 12
and 1:30 p.m.
