SEARHC hires Director of Practice Management
Juneau, January 06, 2014 - SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is pleased to announce that Eric Gettis will be joining the organization as the new Director of Practice Management beginning January 13, 2014.
As the Director of Practice Management, Mr. Gettis will be working side by side with Dr. Sheufelt, SEARHC’s new Primary Care Clinics Medical Director. Together they will be managing the operations of sixteen medical practices. He will lead improvement efforts, front end office processes, appointment scheduling, registration, health information management, provider schedule optimization, customer service, and quality monitoring.
Mr. Gettis has over 20 years of healthcare leadership and has gained broad and varied experience with Lourdes Health Network during his service to the System. Since 2008, he has served as their Director of Physician Practices where he had oversight for 120 employees and 37 physicians in clinics providing Urgent Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, ENT, GI, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Urology, Pulmonology, and Neurology services. During his tenure with Lourdes Health Network he has managed outpatient mental health and adult ambulatory service as well as his most recent Practice Management post.
Prior to living in Washington State’s “Tri-Cities,” Gettis and his wife spent seven summers in Skagway and they are both looking forward to being back in Southeast Alaska.
“I am truly excited about being with SEARHC. I’m extremely impressed with the staff and physicians and look forward to having an impact on the health of the community,” said Gettis. He adds, “Southeast Alaska has been an important place in my life. I think it’s the most beautiful place in the World.”
