Qatar Country Analysis Brief - January 2014
Qatar is the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the world, and the country's exports of LNG, crude oil, and petroleum products provide a significant portion of government revenues. Several recent developments in the country's natural gas sector could boost production in the short term, and while Qatar's crude oil production is the second lowest in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), increasing production of non-crude liquids—most of which is a byproduct of natural gas production—is contributing to gradual growth in total liquids production.
