Mccool Carlson Green (MCG) Joins ‘JUST’ Program
The Company Becomes the First Architectural Firm to Participate in the International Living Future Institute’s Innovative New Organizational Disclosure Program
Anchorage, Alaska, January 22, 2014 – In December, 2013, McCool Carlson Green (MCG) became the first architectural firm to participate in the JUST™ program (www.justorganizations.com), a new initiative of International Living Future Institute (ILFI) (www.living-future.org). JUST™ is a nationwide effort to encourage organizational transparency and ethical practices. Spearheaded by architect Jason Gamache, AIA, and principal architect John Weir, AIA, MCG’s participation in the launch of this new effort continues the firm’s dedication to being one of Alaska’s most forward-thinking and ethical companies.
The goal of JUST™ is to provide a new level of organizational transparency—both inside the company and in the public sphere. As described on the International Living Future Institute website, the JUST™ program:
“…is not a verification or certification program. Rather, the program provides an innovative transparency platform for organizations to reveal much about their operations, including how they treat their employees and where they make financial and community investments.”
MCG has a longstanding relationship with ILFI, participating in educational conferences and taking on leadership roles in partnering organizations like Cascadia Green Building Council. It is MCG’s history of active engagement that prompted ILFI to invite the firm to be among the exclusive list of companies to help launch the JUST™ program. Each organization has subsequently provided valuable feedback on the program’s submittal process and standards. These insights will help the JUST™ program establish long-term success.
MCG participated in the JUST™ program because the firm’s leadership recognizes the importance of the regular evaluation of company policies and practices. Locally, MCG hopes to help spread the word to other Alaskan companies, highlighting the benefits of providing greater organizational transparency to employees, clients, and our community.
