Foundation adds, promotes staff
Foundation staff announcements
Anchorage, AK - Rasmuson Foundation recently promoted two and added two staff members.
Jeff Baird was promoted to senior program associate in recognition of his increased responsibilities related to the Tier 1 grant program and increasing role supporting Tier 2 grants and initiatives. Jeff joined the Foundation in 2011 after having served two years as a judicial clerk in Bethel and Anchorage and six years as a newspaper reporter. Jeff has a law degree and bachelor’s in journalism from the University of St. Thomas.
Claudia Maria Mateo was promoted to executive assistant and board liaison. Claudia joined the Foundation last year as administrative assistant after having worked for a local engineering firm and the United States Air Force where she was active in nonprofits that serve military families. Claudia has a bachelor's degree in organizational management with concentration in security from the University of Phoenix
Kelly Wagner, who has been working with the Foundation on an interim basis since July 2013, was hired as the administrative assistant and receptionist. Kelly has served in clerical positions in both the public and private sector for her entire career, primarily working in education.
The Foundation has hired Lily Weed as communications intern. Lily grew up in Anchorage and graduated from Whitman College with a bachelor’s in film studies. She worked in China and Cambodia for five years while completing a master’s in media studies. During her year-long internship, Lily will be working on a range of assignments including compiling materials for the Foundation’s 60th anniversary and new website.
