North America Outdoor Institute is adding a monthly calendar of upcoming trainings, workshops, seminars and community events with direct links to register online. January 20th-31st

Saturday, 1-26 - Alyeska Avalanche Field-Join NAOI for our annual Beacon and Eggs Training at Alyeska Resort! Training,Topics include: identifying and assessing avalanche terrain, trip planning and route selection, introduction to use of avalanche transceivers, shovels, and probes, emergency response. Made possible thanks to the Alaska Dept. of Public Safety. $20 donation requested. Register Now

February 1st-10th

Friday, 2-1 - Haines Avalanche Seminar, Free Avalanche seminar for those that love to recreate in the snow. Appropriate for ages 9 and up and all modes of travel including snowmobile, skis, snowshoes, board, mushing, auto.This is a fun, interactive seminar designed to help you recreate safer this winter. Made possible thanks to the AK Dept. of Public Safety and Div. of Parks, SnowTrac.

Tuesday, 2-5- REI, Anchorage, NAOI will be presenting a free avalanche seminar covering avalanche awareness. Appropriate for ages 9 and up and all modes of travel including snowmobile, skis, snowshoes, board, mushing, auto. Designed for anyone that travels, plays or works in avalanche terrain. Wilderness First Responder

April 22 - May 3, 2013

This is a 10 day SOLO certified WFR training program for those professionals that guide others in remote areas and for those that participate in extended backcountry travel or just want to learn wilderness medicine. This program is certified by SOLO, the oldest, continuous wilderness medical school in the world. Class will run M-F, from 9:30a-5:30p. Register Now

Wilderness First Aid/WFR Recert

May 10 - 12, 2013 Accidents happen. People get hurt, sick, or lost. The temperature drops, the wind picks up and it starts to rain. Would you know what to do? Many backcountry emergencies are preventable and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse. Learn Wilderness First Aid Skills and get CR certified!
