EIA Releases Detailed End-Use Consumption and Expenditures data from the 2009 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS)

EIA has released detailed home energy consumption and expenditures (C&E) by end use. This release includes 2009 RECS total and average C&E for major end uses including space heating, air-conditioning, and appliances & electronics. Detailed tables ontain statistics by a variety of structural, geographic, and household characteristics.
EIA has conducted the RECS since 1978 to provide data on home energy characteristics, end uses of energy, and expenses for the four Census Regions and nine Divisions. A threefold increase in the number of households included in the 2009 RECS offers more accuracy and coverage for understanding energy usage for all estimated States, Regions and Divisions.
