Sitzmark Music Special Offers

Flowmotion to play their final show as “Flowmotion” in January at Alyeska Resort; Special deals on live concerts at Sitzmark Bar & Grill

January 3, 2011 (Girdwood, Alaska) – Flowmotion, a popular Seattle-based band, has announced their forthcoming album will be released as a new band “The True Spokes.” The band plans to play its final shows as “Flowmotion” at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill on January 13, 14 and 15, 2012. The Sitzmark Bar & Grill is located near the Daylodge base area of Alyeska Resort. The Flowmotion shows are $10 in advance and $15 day of show. There is a special two for one admission on the Sunday night performance.

Flowmotion has dominated the Northwest live music scene for over 10 years, garnering thousands of fans throughout the entire West Coast region via relentless touring and as hosts of their very successful music festival, Summer Meltdown (held every August in Darrington, WA.) In a letter to their fans the band states, “The music the band is writing and recording has reached a point where the name Flowmotion is an unsuitable description for who the band is now. With a solidified line up and many members writing material, transitioning to a new band name allows us to evolve into whatever it is we want to become."

They go on to state, "Sometimes an artistic desire and inspiration churns so hard in our guts we don't have a choice but to follow it, regardless of the financial or social ramifications.  We're extremely excited for the new album and consider it to be one of our proudest achievements.”

With this announcement the band is releasing the first track off their new self-titled album, dropping February 3rd. This album is being co-produced by The True Spokes and The Mother Hips’ Tim Bluhm, and features performances by both Tim and Nicki Bluhm (Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers). To hear the first song, “Back Porch,” visit their new website www.TrueSpokes.com. (The track is also available to press for embedding via SoundCloud.)

The Sitzmark Bar & Grill at Alyeska Resort has established itself as top music venue. The diverse music line-up for the 2011/2012 season includes a healthy mix of local Alaska bands and legendary national acts. With a casual ambiance, bar games and classic ski paraphernalia decor, the “Sitz” – as it’s fondly called by locals – has also grown into a formidable convert venue in Southcentral Alaska. The bar features over a dozen draft beers, full bar and new this winter, late night snacks.

Concerts at the Sitzmark start at 10:00 P.M. with doors open at 9:00 P.M. for guests ages 21 and over. Tickets for Sitzmark concerts can be purchased online at the resort website, at the Sitzmark or any Alyeska Ticket Office and by phone at 907-754-2275.

The Sitzmark offers a special two for one admission for all bands with a scheduled Thursday night performance. Qualifying bands this winter include: Great American Taxi, Pato Banton, Lucero, Shannon McNally and Hot Sauce, Potcheen, and Peter Rowan and the Free Mexican Airforce.
