Kodiak Island Borough School District CFO Luke Fulp Named Junior Achievement of Alaska Volunteer of the Year

Award to be presented at the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center Thursday, January 26, 2012
Anchorage, AK – On Thursday, January 26, 2012 – Kodiak School District SFO Luke Fulp will be presented with the 2012 Junior Achievement of Alaska Volunteer of the Year Award at the Alaska Business Hall of Fame in a ceremony to be held at the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center. Junior Achievement of Alaska, Inc. and Alaska Business Monthly are the Title sponsors of this event.
Mr. Fulp has been a strong supporter of Junior Achievement and its mission to give Alaska’s youth workforce readiness skills, encourage entrepreneurship and strengthen financial literacy. Under Mr. Fulp’s leadership JA programs in Kodiak have grown from 3 to 40 in 2 years, increasing the opportunities in Kodiak to create a bridge between the business community and the classroom.
In a recent interview, Luke said “There is no better time to teach financial literacy than now. Junior Achievement has had a significant impact in Kodiak. It has allowed our schools to partner with the business community, giving students an opportunity to interact with a wide variety of professionals.”
Junior Achievement of Alaska is very proud to recognize Luke Fulp as the JA Volunteer of the Year at the 26th Annual Hall of Fame on January 26, 2012.
The 26th annual celebration includes a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m., Dinner & Induction Ceremony at 6:30 p.m..
