Alaska Coastal Studies Selects Executive Director
The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, a non-profit Homer organization that inspires the stewardship of natural environments for future generations, announces the appointment of Beth Trowbridge as the new Executive Director. In 2000, Trowbridge, who has a minor in Native studies and a secondary teaching certification, began working as a part-time educator during the winter for the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies. She became the Manager of the Wynn Nature Center and Program Director. She has acted as the center’s Director three times, most recently after the resignation of Mike Allen.
Beth recently received an ocean literacy award sponsored by the Center for Ocean Science Education Excellence, a National Science Foundation-funded program. The board, staff and members all are thankful and happy to have Beth in this position as the organization begins celebrating its 30th anniversary!
