AWIB Accepting Applications for 2012 Alaska Cast and Crew Advancement Program Grant
JUNEAU, Alaska—The Alaska Workforce Investment Board in partnership with the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development, is accepting grant applications to train Alaskans for the film and television industry. The 2012 Alaska Crew and Cast Advancement Program will fund projects that focus on career and technical education that will adapt to the demands and opportunities in this emerging industry.
Funding for the grants will support Alaska contractors, for-profit institutions, labor organizations, nonprofit organizations or public organizations for short-term, intensive workshops, Joint Apprenticeship Training Centers, registered apprenticeship, on-the-job-training and lectures or comprehensive training programs.
Funds may also be available for individual training through the Alaska Job Center Network. Training services must be linked to film and television occupations that are in demand in Alaska.
Applications are due by Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. Signed applications must be submitted both by email and postmarked hardcopy.
