Anchorage, AK- The Anchorage ATHENA Society, a program of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, is currently seeking nominations for new members to be inducted this April.
The Anchorage ATHENA Society has been a program of the Anchorage Chamber for the past 15 years, and is associated with the worldwide foundation: ATHENA International. Its members encourage the potential of women as valued members and leaders of the business community.
"Anchorage has no shortage of outstanding leaders who recognize the necessity of opening doors for women in business," said Bill Evans, chair of the Anchorage Chamber board of directors. "By recognizing these exceptional men and women, the Anchorage ATHENA Society inspires others to achieve excellence."
Those selected will be inducted during the Anchorage ATHENA Society luncheon, held at noon on Monday, March 21, 2011. One current Anchorage ATHENA Society will also be awarded the ATHENA Awards for her outstanding accomplishments. Nominations for individuals to be inducted into the Anchorage ATHENA Society are solicited from the community and chosen based on business accomplishments, community service and dedication to promoting women in business.
As of last April, more than 230 members have been inducted into the Anchorage ATHENA Society.

The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit business organization with more than 1,100 members representing 70,000 employees. For businesses interested in membership, annual fees are based on the type of organization and number of full-time year-round employees.
