Alaska's Credit Union 1 Community Commitment in 2010

Anchorage, AK – January 11, 2011 – Credit Union 1 (CU1) is proud to announce the credit union’s commitment to community service in 2010 resulted in over $100,000 contributed to 37 organizations across Alaska, as well as 1,023 volunteer hours provided from CU1 employees.  The Food Bank of Alaska, Bean’s Café, Interior AIDS Association, Fairbanks Counseling and Adoption, Ketchikan Youth Initiatives, Soldotna Community Playground, Pediatric Therapies at Providence Kodiak Medical Center, Kodiak Island Food Bank, the Children’s Miracle Network, the Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association, American Red Cross of Alaska and the American Cancer Society are just a few examples of non-profits the credit union supported this past year.

One of CU1’s core values is citizenship.  The credit union works to improve the lives of their members by supporting the communities in which they live and work, and embraces the true credit union spirit of “people helping people.”  CU1 is committed to providing this same level of support to the Alaskan community in 2011.
