Alaska Professional Communicators Communications Contest
Deadlines: Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 for books
Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 for all other entries
Entry Fee: APC members $20 per entry, nonmembers $30
This contest is for 81 categories of communications work: print journalism, public relations, broadcasting, electronic media, and literary and educational pursuits.
First place entries go on to national judging in a competition managed by the National Federation of Press Women. Judges, who give feedback to the entrants, are recognized experts in their fields from outside Alaska.
The 2011 contest is for work from the 2010 calendar year. Book entries must be postmarked by Jan. 20, 2011, and all other entries must be postmarked by Feb. 3.
The contest is open to any Alaska resident communicator. A first-place winner who is not a member of APC must join for the entry to be forwarded to the national contest, in keeping with NFPW rules.
