Senate Energy Chair Hails Denali Pipeline Announcement
Senator McGuire says she’s “delighted at the competition
(ANCHORAGE) – Senator Lesil McGuire (R-Anchorage) today released this statement expressing her pleasure at the news that the Denali Pipeline Company will start its open season process in April:
Today’s announcement by the Denali Pipeline project that they will hold an open season is wonderful news for Alaska.
As Alaskans know, TransCanada has previously announced their plans to conduct an open season and with two projects going forward, I am delighted at the competition and opportunities that exist for commercializing Alaska’s plentiful gas reserves. In my capacity as President of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER), I have been meeting with our Canadian neighbors and Governors from northwestern states about this project and the role Alaska’s gas will play regionally.
Developing Alaska’s gas is crucial to securing a clean, domestic supply of energy for the United States and today’s announcement is a big step forward.
My congratulations to all of the employees at Denali and to those who worked on the project in the Alaskan based contracting community.
