Northwest Arctic Leadership Team Hosts USDA Job Forum in Kotzebue
Kotzebue, Alaska - Jan. 19, 2010 - The Northwest Arctic Leadership Team (NWALT) hosts the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Forum on Jobs and Economic Growth today at the Alaska Technical Center (ATC), from 9 a.m. - noon, in Kotzebue, Alaska.
"This forum is an excellent opportunity to discuss the unique job creation challenges of rural Alaska," said Marie Greene, NANA Regional Corporation president & CEO and NWALT co-chair. "It is our hope that this forum will spark ideas for real, sustainable employment solutions for the Northwest region, as well as other areas of rural Alaska."
USDA Alaska State Director, Jim Nordlund, and Farm Services Agency (FSA) Executive Director, Danny Consenstein, will be on-hand during the forum to solicit ideas and respond to local residents.
The three-hour program will air live on local public radio station KOTZ and will be moderated by independent radio host and producer, Nellie Moore. The Kotzebue forum is one of four (4) forums the USDA is hosting in Alaska; one was held last week in Fairbanks and two more are scheduled for Anchorage and Juneau in the coming weeks.
