2010 Iditarod Volunteer Meetings Begin
Wasilla, Alaska - January 12, 2010 - The 2010 Iditarod Trail Committee will conduct its first volunteer meeting beginning Wednesday, January 13th, at the Millennium Alaskan Hotel (The Iditarod's Official Headquarters in Anchorage). The meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. in the Redington Room.
Another volunteer meeting will be held in Wasilla (The home of the Iditarod), Saturday afternoon, January 16, at 2 p.m. at Iditarod Trail Committee Headquarters, located at Mile 2.2 Knik Road.
Both meetings are for anyone wanting to learn about volunteer positions available with for the 2010 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Interested volunteers are encouraged to log on to www.iditarod.com and click on the "for volunteers" tab to find out more about the all of the volunteer opportunities available before attending the meetings. Race Coordinators will be on hand to talk about their various areas of responsibility.
Anyone interested in finding out just how much fun it can be to be a volunteer in the 2010 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog race is welcome to attend.
Iditarod volunteers are vital to the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race's success. Each year some 1,800 volunteers from all over the world work together to help stage "The Last great Race on Earth".
