13th Annual Gathering Set To Cure Cabin Fever
(Jan. 18, 2010, Anchorage, AK) – Families near and far are invited by Southcentral Foundation (SCF) to celebrate generations at the 13th Annual Gathering. Perfect for all ages, this event will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. Dozens of local community organizations will join SCF with this year’s theme, “Shared Responsibility: Today's Generation/ Tomorrow's Leadership.”
Featuring over 120 booths and activities, every family member can experience aspects of healthy lifestyles and cultural traditions. Attendees can learn about the health and wellness programs offered by SCF and people of all ages can enjoy the face painting and educational activities. Perfect Valentines Day gifts can be found at the many Native artist booths. Native entertainment will be scheduled throughout the day, participants will have opportunities to win prizes and take a carriage ride through downtown (weather permitting).
