Goodwill Expands Into Alaska

Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties opened its first Job Connections Center yesterday in Anchorage, Alaska. The Center is located in downtown Anchorage next to Nordstrom’s at the corner of 6Th and C Streets. “The Anchorage community is familiar with Goodwill and very excited about the opening of our Job Connections program, today marks the first of many great things to come in Alaska” stated Virginia Slate, Goodwill Board Chair.

The Center is open to the public and will provide free one-on-one personalized service designed to address individual employment needs during the job search, assistance with resume writing and interview skills, and referrals to local employers based on employment goals, experience and skills. Goodwill also provides assistance with the application and interview process, follow-up on job searches, and provides clients with access to computers, email, fax machines, and telephones. “I am pleased to say that Goodwill now operates in all fifty states and I am proud of the investment that Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties is making with its mission-first approach to serving Alaska” stated Jim Martin, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties.
