Joint Veterans Caucus and Rasmuson Foundation Team Up To Honor Alaska’s Women Veterans
Juneau-Members of the Joint Veterans Caucus are teaming up with the Rasmuson Foundation to honor Women’s Veterans for their service in the military this upcoming Thursday in the Speaker’s Chambers at the Capitol Building in Juneau. The ceremony will start at 11:30am.
Founder of the Alaska Veterans Organization for Women Vanessa Meade as well as Retired Major Becky Huggins, who served as a UH-1 Pilot, will talk about the women veterans experience in Alaska.
Also as part of the ceremony, Senate President Charlie Huggins will make presentations to the women veterans in attendance as well as an opening statement. Governor Sean Parnell will then make a short speech, followed by remarks from Diane Kaplan, the President of the Rasmuson Foundation.
