World Trade Center Alaska will be hosting Arctic Ambitions II: Commercial Development of the Arctic on February 19th & 20th, 2013 at the Hotel Captain Cook. This unique conference focuses on Arctic international trade and business opportunities.

With increased commercial activity in the Arctic, WTCAK is paying close attention to the region. The summer season of 2011 saw a rise of commercial transit via the Northern Sea Route - 34 ships carried 820,000 tons of cargo. That's up from only 4 cargo ships in 2010.

The future of Arctic commerce is not only a matter of discovery of natural resources or production of new technologies in ship building. Successful economic development will require a network of infrastructure as well as international business partnerships and intergovernmental dialogue among Arctic nations. Arctic Ambitions II aims to further this discussion and to keep Alaskans informed on the potential for local business opportunities.

During the first day of the conference we will take a new, fresh look at potential business opportunities between Alaska and the Russian Far East region. It will feature presentations by a mix of both U.S. and Russian trade specialists.
