AGDC Awards Facilities Design Contract
Anchorage – February 20, 2013, the Alaska Stand Alone Pipeline (ASAP) project office has awarded the facilities design contract to Fluor / WorleyParsons (joint venture Arctic Solutions). The contract, signed February 3, 2013, details major project deliverables to include a series of technical studies, the development of the project design basis, project execution planning, cost estimating, schedule development and other services.
Alaska Gasline Development Corporation President, Dan Fauske said, “I’m confident with the expertise Arctic Solutions JV brings to the project. They will perform critical work necessary to keeping the ASAP project on track and our goal of delivering a long-term natural gas solution for Alaskans.”
Arctic Solutions JV is currently performing a preliminary front-end engineering and design effort (pre-FEED) project for ASAP’s gas processing facilities.
ASAP is Alaska’s in-state natural gas pipeline project designed to develop an affordable, long-term energy solution for Fairbanks, Southcentral Alaska, and other communities along the route by 2019. The in-state pipeline is a 737-mile pipeline originating at Prudhoe Bay and terminating near Point MacKenzie.
