H Community & Regional Affairs: HB 312, Natural Gas Conversion Program/Fund, and HCR 10, Encouraging Waste-To-Energy Technology, moved out of committee.
H State Affairs: HB 304, Alaska Fire Standards Council, HB 254, Alaska Native Language Council, and HJR 34, Coast Guard Icebreakers & Arctic Base, moved from committee without objection.
H FIN Subcmtee – University of Alaska: The committee took up the governor’s amendments.
H FIN Subcmtee – Natural Resources: The committee reviewed the Land Disposal Income Fund and Gas Pipeline Project Office.
H Econ. Dev., Trade & Tourism: The committee heard presentations on the Southeast Integrated Resource Plan, Biomass Boiler Heating Systems, Biomass Energy Fundamentals, and International Trade Update.
H FIN Subcmtee – Education & Early Development: The committee discussed the Alaska Comprehensive System of Statewide Assessments and all remaining increments.
H Fiscal Policy: The committee discussed the Legislature’s Request For Proposals (RFP) process.
H Transportation: HB 271, Commercial Motor Vehicle Requirements, moved out of committee while HB 258, Naturally Occurring Asbestos, and HB 270, Warning of Airport Exams, were held.
H Finance: The committee heard and held HB 284, Approp: Operating Budget. NCSL gave a presentation on The Federal Budget Control Act & its Possible Economic Impacts on Alaska.
H Health & Social Services: HB 288, Med. Assistance Eligibility: Prisoners, and SCR 1, Lupus Awareness Month, passed out of committee. A presentation by the American Cancer Society Action Network was heard.
H FIN Subcmtee – Labor & Workforce Development: The committee reviewed the Workers’ Safety & Compensation Administration Account and Worker’s Compensation.
H FIN Subcmtee – Environmental Conservation: The committee reviewed the Division of Air Quality and Spill Prevention and Response.
H FIN Subcmtee – Corrections: The committee took up the subject of inmate health care.
H FIN Subcmtee – Revenue: Legislative audit findings, FY13 Increments, ten-year plan, and governor’s amendments were presented to the committee.
H Fisheries: The committee heard an overview on the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
