Elder wisdom is the ripening that comes through experience deeply lived and reflected on. In the good company of peers, we can explore more deeply how to nourish the seeds of wisdom within each of us.

Sherry Ruth Anderson teaches seminars on conscious aging in the United States and Europe, and is author of several best-selling books.
Awakening the Dreamer ~ July 19-22
Discover Your Power to Create a Thriving, Just and Sustainable World

Do you want to live a more fulfilling life and have a positive impact on your family and community? Since 2005, Awakening the Dreamer has helped tens of thousands of people do just that.

Patricia Ryan leads the Conscious Evolution series at Mercy Center in Burlingame. Marie Sheahan Brown is a member of the Sisters of the Metolius apostolic religious community vowed to "respect and care for all of God's creation."

The Heart of Compassion ~ July 26-29
Women's Retreat with Sisters Suzanne Toolan & Marguerite Buchanan

Through a gentle rhythm of reading, listening, sharing, music & silence, become immersed in the reality of Divine Compassion.

Sr. Suzanne was founder of Mercy Center, Burlingame, CA. She is resident liturgist, facilitates prayer and is perhaps best known for her hymn “I Am the Bread of Life”.  Sr. Marguerite's ministry has been primarily spiritual direction, as well as dream work, body-mind-spirit integration, Centering Prayer & prison ministry.

Making Meaning ~ August 9-12
Dialogue Journaling Workshop with Helen Cepero & Marcia Wakeland

Exploring the Narrative of Our Lives... Through literature and film, participants will practice the art of dialogue journaling & connect our stories to the larger Story.

Helen is an ordained pastor, spiritual director, teacher & retreat leader. She authored Journaling as a Spiritual Practice: Encountering God through Attentive Writing. Marcia is an avid journaler, spiritual director, retreat leader, Lutheran pastor & director of The Listening Post of Anchorage.

Nature Immersion Retreat ~ August 16-19
Explore the Wilderness & Awaken Your Senses with Lucas & Beka Thoning

Join us in appreciating Halibut Cove's natural environment by hiking, ocean and glacier lake kayaking & expert tidepooling. Return to the comfort of the lodge each evening for relfection and restoration with optional yoga & meditation.

Lucas is a certified Wilderness First Responder, experienced kayak guide and yoga instructor. Beka, manager and executive chef of Stillpoint Lodge, is a certified kayak guide and seasoned outdoorswoman.

Writing Down the Wild ~ August 31-September 3
Nature Writers Workshop with Bill Sherwonit

Through readings, writing exercises, discussions, and quiet time spent in the company of nature, discover the ways that "writing down the wild" can lead to an increased intimacy with the larger, wilder world we inhabit.

Bill has contributed essays and articles to a wide variety of newspapers, magazines, journals, and anthologies and is also the author of 13 books, including  Changing Paths:Travels and Meditations in Alaska's Arctic Wilderness.

Picture Piecing ~ September 5-9
Creating Dynamic Pictorial Quilts with Cynthia England

Learn to combine aspects of painting, stained glass and needle-work with a unique, innovative technique. This quilter's retreat includes lecture, demonstration and time for working on your own landscape quilt.

Cynthia, a former commercial graphic artist, has won Best of Show twice at the International Quilt Festival. Her most recognized quilt, Piece and Quiet, was chosen as one of "The Twentieth Century's Best American Quilts" in 2000.

Secrets of Painting Loosely ~ September 13-19
A Watercolor Workshop with Eric Wiegardt

For those who wish to loosen up in watercolor... Learn painting techniques and a distinctive philosophy of design that encourages bold, loose paintings.This five day course will teach you the basic principles of developing a painting in watercolor.

Eric Wiegardt, AWS, NWS, nationally recognized judge, juror, and award winner, has left an indelible mark on the American art scene with more than 20 years of professional painting and teaching experience.
